The Ellen DeGeneres Show Appearance
While working on the rebrand and comeback story for Ryan Leaf, an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show was always our most ridiculous, long-shot goal. Ellen and her show meant the world to Ryan and we believed if Ryan could make it on Ellen, we had succeeded in crafting a story worth telling. And we did! After months of media work with Blaze PR and chasing every lead possible, we finally got the call from a producer of the show, inviting Ryan on to tell his story. It was everything we hoped for and more, as Ellen made a generous donation to the Focused Intensity Foundation, leading to record interest and coverage for the nonprofit.
Christmas Eve special for NFL on FOX
NFL on FOX host, Jay Glazer, reached out about doing a heartwarming special on Ryan to be aired on Christmas Eve. We worked closely with the FOX producers to develop the story, narrative, and interviews for the piece. After weeks of planning, we worked with the team to capture numerous interviews across multiple locations and multiple states. The final piece was shown live during the halftime report, with Ryan joining the hosts on set for its reveal. This spot generated an outpouring of social media support and coverage.
Events
Epson, Shaq, & Communities in Schools
To celebrate the relationship between Epson & Shaq, we wanted to hold an event that highlighted the impact transformative technology could have on the lives of students. By partnering with Communities in Schools, a national non-profit dedicated to helping students in underserved populations, we held an event at a middle school in Los Angeles where Shaq and a group of Epson executives spoke with students about the impact tech and education had on their personal journeys. After a small press event with student leadership, Shaq and Epson’s CEO kicked off a pep rally event that got the entire school screaming, singing, and dancing. The event culminated with a private meeting between Shaq, Epson’s CEO, and a group of deserving teachers that were awarded a suite of Epson products for their classroom and personal use. We worked with creative agency, 31,000ft, to capture content from the event, resulting in an amazing video shared by Shaq to his personal social media accounts. The uplifting event was shared across social media and picked up by local and national press.
Focused Intensity Foundation Fundraiser
The Focused Intensity Foundation provides support and scholarships for those struggling with mental health and substance abuse disorders. As part of the founding team, we grew FIF from a plan on a whiteboard, to sending eight people through recovery treatment in our first year. In collaboration with ICM Partners and local event planners, we held a golf fundraiser at the Mountaingate Country Club that featured Don Cheadle, Josh Duhamel, Curt Menefee. and several other celebrity attendees. The event was supported with a strong social outreach campaign highlighting the non-profit’s mission, success stories, and celebrity supporters.
